Books and Beds for Cambodian Orphanage

The Merredin-Wheatbelt Mercury, a newspaper based in Western Australia, reports that Tanja Jaw has taken on helping the Chres Orphanage in rural Cambodia raise money for more beds and get books donated to its library so the children can be educated.
Jaw is working to raise $30,000 to build beds for 18 children who are currently forced to sleep in the library. She has gotten hundreds of unwanted English books donated from local schools and libraries – learning English is very helpful for children to break out of the cycle of poverty. Tanya Jaw, who grew up in Trayning and finished high school in Wyalkatchem, says coming from the country has helped her see the world in a different way.
She has achieved many things throughout her life so far and is currently helping to provide a library and accommodation for oprhans in Cambodia as part of a Self-Expression and Leadership Program.
